Nerves of, Well, Something

Well, the semester is about to start and I'm starting to get nervous. I do have legitimate reasons for this, though.
  • The standard new classes to take and to teach.
  • That sermon I am giving on Sunday.
  • The qualifying exam results that are supposed to come out the first week of classes.
  • Something else that I have forgotten about that Jon reminded me of last night.
I figure I can take care of the first two as they arise, and what happens with the third is going to happen. As for the last one, I have no idea what to do, nor am I sure I should do anything. (Yes, I know I'm being cryptic. I have my reasons.)

In other news, I will get to meet my mom's new cat this weekend when I go to give the sermon. Apparently, my mom became attached to my sister's cat, so she got one of her own.

I also had an enjoyable vacation to New Jersey this past weekend to Mairead and Alex's new place. However, I think I will wait awhile before making a four hour drive again.

Also, NASA had better launch Discovery soon. So far, there has been one launch delay due to weather, and tonight's launch has been delayed due to a faulty valve. Stephen Colbert is on vacation the next few weeks, but we won't hear the end of it should the treadmill COLBERT still be on the ground when he gets back.

Oh, if people in the area want to get together Friday night to help be burn off some stress about the sermon, I'd appreciate it. Also, if you want to come to the sermon, or bring anyone with you, let me know so that we can make travel and any necessary lodging plans.

4 hours is a piece of cake. But I'm glad you made it there and back again.
