Charlie Smith, the Frederick County State's Attorney (i.e., Frederick County's version of Jack McCoy, my apologies to the fictional character), is being sued for non-payment of child support. Yes, the top criminal prosecutor in the county has not paid his child support of only $200 dollars a month, which may actually be a fair amount for the circumstances (you can read the articles in the Gazette or Frederick News-Post*). His excuse is that he and his ex made an oral agreement to end the support payments.
Claim: Charlie Smith should be removed.
Proof: If the oral agreement does not exist, Charlie Smith is a liar and a deadbeat dad. This makes him a criminal, and as such, he needs to stop being the county's chief prosecutor.
If the oral agreement was made, he was too pathetic of a lawyer to get it in writing. A lawyer that bad should not be in his position. QED.
Sadly, he is in the good ol'boys network. I would be very surprised to see him gone anytime soon.
And, on another note, I believe Senator McCain just took the inexperience issue off the table for the presidential election.
*The Gazette, a free, weekly paper in Frederick County, broke the Charlie Smith story on Thursday. The Frederick News-Post, a daily paper that costs money, did not have the story until today (Friday). You can draw your own conclusions.

It warms the cockles of my evil little heart to see these things. Any time I start thinking that maybe, just maybe, humanity as a whole isn't riddled with moral decay, more of this nonsense rolls around.
Side note: Bmore's restarting its enormous "Pay Your $%^*%^&* Child Support, You Deadbeat" campaign again. This is good, but indicates that the last one didn't work. Kind of amazing, really.
